Home Business Basics
There are three main types of home businesses that you can buy and each one has it’s own advantages and disadvantages. Below we look at a number of different businesses that fall into three main categories:
1) Franchise
A franchise is an agreement where one business grants another business the right to distribute its products or services. Some popular franchises include lawnmowing runs, pet sitting/grooming, cleaning services, pest control, and teaching dance to children.
2) Direct Selling
Direct selling is the selling of consumer products person to person without a fixed retail location. The two most common forms of direct selling opportunities are single-level marketing or multi-level marketing.
Single-level marketing is buying goods from a parent company and than on selling those goods directly to the consumer, whereas multi-level marketing involves sponsoring direct sellers below you.
There are many direct selling opportunities, the most famous of which include Amway, Omegatrend, Avon and Tupperware.
3) Business Opportunities
An idea, service, product or system that someone else has developed and offers to sell to others to help them start their own version of the business. Below are a few popular examples: Balloon gift wrap, Collection services, Share trading systems, and Internet marketing systems.
